Vermont Mountaineers 50/50 Policy 2026
Definition & Eligibility
A 50/50 raffle is designed to provide an eligible organization the opportunity to sell tickets and equally share the gross receipts with the holder of a winning ticket. The Mountaineers are providing the opportunity as a part of its mission to assist the Central Vermont non-profit community.
An eligible organization shall meet the criteria as defined in the Mountaineers’ Donation Policy available on their website, including:

- Be approved as a non-profit.
- Be non-partisan, non-denominational and comply with equal opportunity provisions.
- Focus its programs in support of youth, education, physical and mental health, and the environments that enhance well-being and growth.
Exceptions may be made at the discretion of the Mountaineers.

Process
- Tickets will be sold only at the ball park during home games. One organization per game.
- Ticket sales will comply with the following guidelines:
- Sales may start one hour prior to game time.
- A 50/50 table will be provided to the seller to encourage sales that do not impact fan viewing.
- Sales in the grandstands allowed between innings.
- Sales may occur down first and third base lines.
- Raised voices will not be used while ball is in play.
- Every effort will be made to not obstruct the view of the game while ball is in play.
- All sales are to be completed and proceeds brought to the Skip Souvenir Stand by the end of the 5th inning.
- The winning number(s) will be announced at the end of the 6th inning.
- The ticket winner must pick up winnings by the end of the 7th inning. If the winner does not claim the proceeds by the end of the 7th inning, that sum shall default to the Mountaineers.
- Ticket sellers must be at least of high school age.
- Children (younger than high school age) may help sell tickets, but must be accompanied by an adult.
Raffle tickets will be sold at $1/each, $5/10 tickets, $10/22 tickets.
Responsibilities
50/50 Organization
- On game night the 50/50 organization is responsible for all aspects of the sale, to include but not limited to the following:
- Provide the sellers.
- Supervise all sellers at the game.
- Supervisor/lead representatives shall be meet between 5:15 pm but not later than 5:45 pm at the Skip Souvenir Stand to receive tickets and change.
- Provide the raffle ticket proceeds to the 50/50 Manager at the Souvenir Shop prior to the end of the 5th inning.
- Shall meet the VTM 50/50 representative at the Skip Souvenir Stand before the game starts, before the end of the 5th inning to count the proceeds and at the middle of the 6th inning to be ready to pull the ticket at the end of the 6th inning.
- All guidelines under the process section (e.g., age requirements, when to sell, where)
- Provide tickets, if possible.
The Mountaineers
- Shall provide cash (to be subtracted from sales proceeds) for making change and aprons.
- Shall announce the organization that will benefit from the raffle during the game.
- Shall draw the winning number in view of those in the grandstand at the end of the 6th inning.
- Reserve the right to cancel the 50/50 program prior to its start or during the game for any violations or reason deemed necessary.
- Shall review procedures for soliciting with 50/50 volunteers.
- Will count and divide proceeds from sale of tickets no later than the top of the 6th inning (proceeds may be brought to the Skip Souvenir Stand from time to time during the game to avoid having to count all the money at once.)
- Provide 1/2 the sales proceeds to the organization selling and 1/2 to the winning ticket.
If the game is cancelled prior to its start, the designated 50/50 organization shall have first option for the rescheduled date or the next available date, if any. If the game is called prior to the end of the 5th inning, the 50/50 gross proceeds will be counted as soon as possible and a ticket to be drawn and announced with the winner to pick up their proceeds within 15 minutes.
